How the car theory exam works
In the Netherlands, car theory exams are taken at CBR centres. CBR is an abbreviation of Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen (CBR). You can take this theory exam at any time before the final driving test. After soliciting your theory test, you will receive a confirmation in the post with the date and time of your test. For your car theory exam, it is not mandatory to bring your confirmation slip. Do, however, bring your ID.
The hazard perception part consists of 25 questions. You must answer 13 or more of these questions correctly.
The traffic rules (knowledge) part consists of 12 questions. You must answer 10 or more of these questions correctly.
The traffic insight (wider perception) part consists of 28 questions. You must answer 25 or more of these questions correctly.
